Accept One Another: Devotions From Time of GraceSýnishorn
Christ Is Our Model
People need heroes to look up to, to know that at least somebody has figured out life and figured out how to be successful. Who are your heroes? Achievers in sports, finance, fashion, or music?
People crave heroes also to know how to live. We pay attention not only to the achievements of athletes, musicians, and movie stars, but we crave details of their personal lives as well. A huge magazine, TV, and online industry has arisen to satisfy that craving. We want to know about the stars' relationships, cars, mansions, and lifestyles.
Living a godly life is plenty hard. Satan attacks and tempts from the outside, and we struggle with the old sinner still within us. We need both information on how to please God and also the will and inspiration to keep at it. Jesus Christ provides both. He gives us his Word to teach our minds. He gives us his Spirit to live within to give us strength.
And he leads by example. He is our greatest hero. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant" (Philippians 2:5-7).
I want to be like him.

About this Plan
It’s God’s wish and commission that we should be reconciled with one another. Though Satan tries to use differences as wedges to drive us apart, the Spirit leads us to love, respect, and appreciate other people. It is the goal of this devotional plan to help you think through and live out Romans 15:7: "Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.?"
