Real Impact: Perspectives From the Life of JesusSýnishorn
Day 3: The impact of resurrected life
Jesus lived the most impactful life there ever was—He conquered death!
New and resurrected life is a theme even early on in Jesus’ ministry. In a conversation with a man named Nicodemus, Jesus tells him that we must all be “born again.” The account of this conversation is followed by one of the most famous Scriptures in the world: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
The ultimate impact one can have is to bring life to others. And this is exactly what Jesus came to do.
Three days after Jesus’ execution by death on a cross, He is raised back to life. The women and men who follow Him are, once again, startled and surprised. But they soon recognize the significance and impact of resurrected life—and they begin to spread the word.
What is the impact of resurrected life today? It means we can have confidence that Jesus has already won—He has defeated death, suffering, violence and injustice. He is “making everything new!” (Revelation 21:5) Our role is to live in that truth as we navigate the in-betweenness of our broken world.
That is the impact we have as Jesus followers—we live in the hope and truth of resurrected life. We can begin living out eternal life today, empowered and equipped by the Holy Spirit to share this truth and hope in real and tangible ways.
As we work to alleviate poverty, advocate for justice, protect and stand up for the vulnerable and so much more, we do so as an outflow of our eternal and resurrected life. We extend the gift of God’s one and only Son to others so that they can be given this life.
How can celebrating the truth and hope of resurrected life inspire and empower you to make an impact today?

Jesus lived a humble life, in community with imperfect people—ultimately defeating death to give us resurrected life. The life of Jesus provides powerful insight into how we can live impactful lives.
