Understanding the Subject of the Covenant

DAY 26 OF 31

THE COVENANT - OUR SOURCE OF CONFIDENCE (1)

Today, I want you to allow God to baptise you with covenant consciousness, such that you know you have a covenant and you are in covenant with God. Your stance of confidence must not be backed by anything natural - your skill, talent, money and relationships, NO! Anything natural is subject to change and temporal. Rather, your confidence must be backed by unchangeable forces: your covenant with God.

When the children of Israel went to spy out the Promised Land in Numbers 13, the Bible records them saying all this “…we saw the children of Anak there... for they are stronger than we... the land eateth up the inhabitants thereof; all the people we saw in it are men of great stature… and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Why were they afraid? Because they only considered their natural strength against the strength and stature of the giants. They didn’t check whether they had a covenant with God and they said, “we are not able.” But Caleb said, “Let us go up at once… for we are well able to overcome it’.’ He understood they have a covenant with God.

Joshua went into graphic details in Numbers 14:9, “They are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.”

What makes your enemy bread for you is not you. It is neither your stature nor your physical strength; it is your covenant with God!

Prayer: My confidence is in the Lord and His covenant with me, not in my physical strength or abilities. By my God, the enemy is bread for me in Jesus' Name. Amen!

About this Plan

Understanding the Subject of the Covenant

When individuals embrace the light and experience spiritual rebirth, a covenant is forged between us and God. The path of faith is not a solitary one; God is deeply invested in the journey, growth, and breakthrough of every believer because of the covenant. This devotional will explore reasons why understanding this covenant is pivotal for cultivating a stronger bond, akin to a father-child relationship, between you and God.
