Playbook: The Game Plan for Navigating Temptation

DAY 4 OF 28

Have you ever seen a roadblock on the highway? It’s usually placed as a sign that something unsafe is up ahead. If you keep going on that same road, you’re eventually going to run into danger. Whether we realize it or not, God often does something similar for us. God helps us see when we’re headed down a path that may not lead to what’s best for us. How? Well, in all kinds of ways, but one of the most obvious is through the people in our lives. Our friends, our small group leaders, our siblings, our parents—God can use them to encourage us away from temptation and toward God’s best for our lives. Maybe consider that, when they are being a “roadblock” about something in your life—when they encourage you to stop, wait, or think carefully about something—they are caring deeply for you.

Who in your life has God used to steer you away from temptation? This week, thank them for being there to help you. Then, think about how God might be calling you to do the same for someone else!
