Barefoot in His Presence

DAY 1 OF 6

Barefoot Encounters

Could it be that Moses was contemplating his life of 40 years as we turn to Exodus 3? Moses was living the high life. He was the Prince of Egypt, highly educated, slaves and servants were at his disposal, money and resources were no problem. Until this passion that was burning in his heart, a passion to free his people from slavery, took his life in a whole different direction. He killed an Egyptian slave master who was beating a Hebrew slave. When the Pharoah heard of it, Moses had to run for his life.

God never uses Satan’s principles or methods to establish His Will.

Maybe that day in the desert, Moses was praying for a second chance. Maybe there was remorse and regret in his heart because he’d tried to do God’s Will in his own strength. Then his eye caught a bush that was burning. This fire just kept burning without stopping. Curious and cautious Moses walked closer.

God knows how to get your attention.

As he was getting near, God called him by name. “Moses, Moses”. He told him, “Do not come any closer … Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.” (Exodus 3:5, NLT). Holy means to be separated for the sole and unique purpose and use of God. To stand on Holy Ground is to say yes to His Calling, His Will, and His Plan for my life.

To take off your shoes is to get rid of anything that separates you from the Holy Ground you are standing on! What do you need to get rid of to be able to stand fully on that Holy Ground? Is it fear and anxiety? Is it disobedience and a don’t-care attitude? Is it selfishness and pride? Is it doubt?

Barefoot worship is giving your complete and unqualified YES to Him! It is saying over and over again... “Here I am! Have Your Way in me!”

Barefoot worship is to stand face to face before the LIVING God, getting rid of the shoes of separation, following Him wholly with everything you have and wholeheartedly embracing the Calling, the Will, and the Purpose that He has planned beforehand for you. It is saying yes to the life He planned for you! It is saying yes to the biggest adventure you could ever dream of!

Then Moses asked Him about His Name. “God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” (Exodus 3:14). Tell them, Moses, that I will be everything they will ever need to do My Will, to live out My Calling, and
to fulfill My Purpose! Tell them that they will lack nothing. Tell them that I will be everything that they need.

By revealing His Name unto Moses, God was telling him, “I’ve got all your bases covered, Moses!” “Moses, you will lack nothing when you live out My Call.”

Hudson Taylor said, “God’s man (woman), in God’s place, doing God’s Will, in God’s Way, will never lack God’s support!

About this Plan

Barefoot in His Presence

A FIRE THAT KEEPS ON BURNING That is the way God chose to reveal Himself to Moses. God loves to involve people in what He is doing. He reached out to Moses who, like me and you, blew a previous opportunity. God fills people with His Spirit, who works in them a hunger, which is best expressed through prayer; the Infinite One touching and empowering the finite ones.
