Prayer

DAY 1 OF 7

He Hears Our Prayers

One of the most beautiful and powerful weapons we have as followers of Jesus is prayer. That we can have direct access to God, the creator of heaven and earth, through prayer is hard to comprehend at times – to know that when we call on Him, He inclines His heart and His ears to us. And what’s more, He answers our prayers. It doesn’t always look the way we want it to, but it doesn’t change the fact that He answers our prayers.

In seasons of delight and in seasons of despair, we can talk to God through prayer. Whether it’s a prayer of thanks or a prayer of request, God hears it. All we need to do is open our mouths and speak. If you’re in a season where you don’t have it in you to say the words, it’s okay. God knows your heart, so you can pray silently. And when we don’t have the words at all, the Holy Spirit will Himself intercede for us (Romans 8:26–27).

When we pray, there’s a beautiful communion between us and God. Our heavenly Father desires for us to come to Him in prayer, trusting Him with our needs and fears and hopes. Sometimes, God will answer the prayer in the way we want and sometimes He doesn’t. But most times, our prayers are met with His presence and peace. They are met with open arms that welcome us in like a little child being embraced by their parent. As you pray today in Jesus’ name, may you feel the delight and presence of your heavenly Father.

About this Plan

Prayer

Everybody loves a good chat with someone who pays attention and cares about what you’re saying and who you can share anything with. This devotional series teaches us about how precious prayer is, that it is not a sacred process that we need to prepare for, but it is simply talking with God and we can do it at any time!
