Matthew 6:14 – 15
God has made it clear throughout Scripture that we should be willing to forgive others when they hurt us. According to Jesus, our reaction to God’s forgiveness will determine our response when we need to offer forgiveness to others. If we understand our heavenly Father’s pardon of our sins, we will have mercy toward others. If haven’t truly accepted our heavenly Father’s pardon, we probably won’t offer mercy to others. In order to maintain our spiritual intimacy with God, we must accept God’s forgiveness and in turn forgive others.
