The Faith That Receives the PromisesSýnishorn
Faith Seizes the Legacy
Hebrews 6:11 We desire that each of you show the same zeal to hold on to a full hope until the end, so that you will not be slackened, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
God has made promises to us, and they are contained in his Word. If some of them are for eternal life, many are for our life on earth. We must not wait patiently for the realization of these promises but seize them by faith.
I want to help you understand this reality through an illustration from everyday life.
Do you ever ask yourself the question, "What am I going to make for dinner?"
Maybe you would like to cook a certain dish, but you realize you are missing some essential ingredients. (discouragement)
Then, you open your pantry or freezer and discover that you have food you never thought of before. (good news!)
You then decide to cook that chicken or that frozen lasagna dish. These foods were available, but you couldn't eat them until you were aware of their availability (the expectation of a good meal) and put yourself into action (faith) to cook them.
God's promises to you are contained in your inheritance (the freezer).
Hoping in these promises without making them your own by faith is like sitting at the table waiting for the chicken in the freezer to cook itself.
If it's just a matter of God's time, of patient waiting, then why would we need faith?
It's not about waiting for our turn as if we were in a waiting room.
We all have access to God through Jesus, so we can approach him when we need to.
Hebrews 4:16 (SG21) Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may obtain compassion and find grace to be helped at the proper time.
Faith acts; faith makes our prayers effective.
Faith is action, it is acting on what God says.
Tomorrow, we will see how to strengthen our faith in order to inherit the promises of God
I invite you to pray with me.
Lord, thank you for your promises to me, thank you for your goodness and your plans for my happiness. Thank you, Jesus, for giving your life and writing my name in your will. I am a child of God and an heir to Jesus. I come to you today to find grace, compassion, and help. Amen!

About this Plan
We have an inheritance in Jesus, and we don't need to wait until death to experience it. Jesus has already died and risen on our behalf. If our name is included in His will, we inherit through faith. Let's delve into how we can bolster our faith to fully embrace the promises of God.
