Eight Responses to Meeting JesusSýnishorn
Anna spoke to other believers about Jesus
“And coming up at that very hour she [Anna] began to give thanks to God and to speak of Him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.” (Luke 2:38)
Not only Simeon had waited a long time for the Savior; Anna did as well. Year after year, day after day, she was in the temple serving God. She was also there when Joseph and Mary came to present their Son to the Lord. When Anna heard Simeon's words, she agreed wholeheartedly. She too believed that this baby was the Savior she had been waiting for.
Anna did not keep this good news to herself. She shared it with others who were also looking forward to the fulfillment of God's promises. Her heart was so full of Jesus, she couldn't keep silent!
Within this Bible story, it sounds very logical that Anna discussed the news of Jesus' birth with her acquaintances or friends. After all, they were waiting for Him too! But how is that with you? Do you also have people around you with whom you like to talk about the Lord Jesus? If not, is it because of your companions not being open to such conversations or are there obstacles on your part? Could you get those out of the way?
