🌟12 Gifts of Christmas🎄✨🎁Sýnishorn
Welcome to the first day of the 12 Gifts of Christmas! I'm excited to share the joy of this season with you. Each day, I want to encourage you to watch the video that goes along with the daily Scripture reading. I am also providing this written version of the devotional for those that prefer to read instead of watching the daily videos.
The first gift of Christmas is faith. As we embark on this festive season, let's reflect on a powerful story from Luke chapter one. There, we find Zechariah, a devoted priest, and his wife Elizabeth, both leading godly lives. Yet, one significant aspect of their lives remains unfulfilled—they could not have a child.
During a special moment when serving incense in the temple, the angel Gabriel appears to Zechariah with a prophecy—promising them a child. Zechariah, initially grappling with doubt, finds it hard to believe this miraculous news due to their old age. In time, however, his faith develops. There's a consequence to his initial doubt—temporary loss of speech. But when the prophecy is fulfilled and John the Baptist is born (their miracle child as promised by God), Zachariah regains his ability to speak.
The lesson for this first day is about faith. Like Zachariah, we might struggle initially with doubt, and it can feel like our ability to speak, to express ourselves, is hindered. But as faith grows, so does our voice. The Bible tells us, I believe; therefore, I speak (2 Corinthians 4:13). So, for this first gift of Christmas, I encourage you to embrace faith. Believe God this Christmas season—for the impossible, for the supernatural.
Prayer: Allow me to offer a prayer for you. Father, we draw inspiration from the story of Zachariah, who, despite initial doubts, saw his faith grow over time. For anyone watching, struggling with their faith, I pray that you increase their faith. Help them believe you for the impossible. In Jesus' name, amen.
May this Christmas be a season of unwavering faith, where you confidently believe in the extraordinary possibilities that God has in store for you.
