Beyond Sunday: 4 Daily Disciplines for a Vibrant Faith Sýnishorn
Welcome to Christian Leaders Institute's Bible plan on Spiritual Disciplines
This is a 10-day Bible Plan that closely examines four significant spiritual disciplines: prayer, Bible reading, fasting, and Sabbath-keeping. The intention of this study is for it to be used either in personal devotions or in a small group setting to enhance the spiritual formation of those who participate.
Devotional:
Spiritual disciplines are intentional and habitual practices or activities that we as Christians engage in to nurture and deepen our relationship with God, promote personal spiritual growth, and cultivate a life in alignment with our faith.
Practicing spiritual disciplines and nurturing one's walk with God holds profound significance for Christians. These disciplines serve as the foundation upon which believers build a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. Spiritual disciplines help Christians seek a deeper understanding of God's will and purpose, fostering a life characterized by faith, love, and wisdom. Through these practices, believers not only draw closer to God but also become more effective instruments of His love and truth in the world, shining as beacons of hope to others. In essence, spiritual discipline is an essential journey towards becoming more Christ-like and living out the principles of Christianity in a meaningful and impactful way.
Reflection/Discussion Questions:
- How do you personally engage in spiritual disciplines to nurture your relationship with God and promote spiritual growth?
- What practices have you found most effective in deepening your faith?
- What do you think it means to become "more Christ-like" through spiritual disciplines, and how might this impact your interactions and influence on the world?
Application:
- Discuss or write in a journal your journey with spiritual disciplines so far, which you practice now, and where you are weak in practicing them.
- Commit to completing this 10-day plan to help you stay accountable in spiritual disciplines.
Closing Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray for your guidance and instruction from your Word on how to practice spiritual disciplines. I thank you for the gift of spiritual disciplines, these intentional and habitual practices that draw me closer to you and deepen my faith.
Help me stay committed to walking this path of spiritual growth and living out the principles of my faith in a meaningful and impactful way.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
