Understanding the Power of the Communion Table

DAY 18 OF 31

TAKE THE COMMUNION PURPOSEFULLY, NOT JUST AS A RITUAL

Don’t be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord; but, be justified by it. How do you do that? By eating it worthily. You are to examine yourself. You will see some accelerated miracles if you take Communion intelligently, not just as a Christian practice but with a full understanding of the implications.

I read about E. W. Kenyon who said that when he read for the first time what Jesus said to the disciples in Luke 22:20 (“This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you”), the first thing that shocked him was that Peter and the other Apostles did not argue, which means they had understanding. He began to check how they could have such understanding, and it dawned on him that they were Jews who were well-trained and schooled. Every Jew is schooled in the tenets of all the covenants.

When Jesus said, “This cup is the New Testament…”, He was telling them that it was the fulfilment of all the shadows they had been practising, and they all understood what they were about to do. The disciples didn’t ask any questions about all the instructions given to them because they understood that the instructions were the realities of all they had been practising as shadows. So, they just started working in the full manifestation because they took heed to what it meant.

PRAYER: I take authority over every form of misconception and attack against the power of the Communion table in my life, in Jesus' name. Amen!

About this Plan

Understanding the Power of the Communion Table

When Jesus was about to leave the world, one of the many commands he left with the believer was the Holy Communion: “Do this in remembrance of me.” Partaking of the communion table biblically makes tremendous power of God available to you, such that sickness, problems, death, and the devil will flee away. In this 31-day devotional, you will learn how to harness the power of the communion table.
