GLORY BE
There is a well-known prayer, or doxology, called “Glory Be”. It simply says:
“Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.”
Time and time again throughout the Bible, we find reasons to praise God and give Him glory. Yesterday, we made space to behold. Today, as we read through the story of Creation, New Creation, and how Jesus is omnipresent through it all, let’s make space to praise Him! We give glory to God firstly because He is God, and He is intrinsically worthy. Secondly, glorifying God takes our eyes off of ourselves – our present situations – and causes us to lift our eyes upwards. Instead of being dismayed by the troubles we face, we can glorify the One who has already overcome the world. By doing this we can gain a heavenly perspective and remind ourselves of who God is and how great His love for us is.
So today, spend a few minutes giving glory to God for all the blessings in your life, the breath in your lungs, the beat in your chest, and everything He has brought you through!
