Grow Through What You Go Through
"Waiting is embracing where God has us today and allowing the in-between moments to stretch us and shape us." - Hope Reagan Harris
Today, let's get deeper into the concept of waiting as a season of growth. Just like a seed lies dormant in the ground before sprouting into a beautiful flower or plant, waiting seasons often feel like a period of dormancy in our lives. However, beneath the surface, God is at work, nurturing our character, refining our faith, and shaping us into the individuals He designed us to be.
While waiting can be uncomfortable, it provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and maturity to develop. Our faith muscles are exercised as we learn to lean on God's promises, even when circumstances seem bleak. Just as a muscle grows stronger through resistance, our souls are strengthened as we persevere through the challenges of waiting.
Reflect: Recall a past waiting season in your life. How did you experience personal growth during that time? What lessons did you learn about yourself and your relationship with God? Spend time meditating on Isaiah 40:28-31 and Habakkuk's interaction with God. How do these verses illuminate the purpose and potential of waiting?
Prayer: Loving God, as I reflect on the growth that can occur during waiting, open my heart to Your transformative work. Help me see waiting as an opportunity for refinement and renewal, trusting that You are using every moment to shape me into the person You desire me to become. May my waiting bring a harvest of spiritual maturity. In Jesus name, amen.
