Time With God in the Car LineSýnishorn
Ugly Crying
It was a chocolate kind of day. As I drove up to my space in line for the afternoon, I couldn’t wait to sit in the inactivity. Food wrappers, shoes, and clothes surrounded me physically, but God’s presence surrounded me spiritually. Worship music filled the sound waves, declaring the name of Jesus over fear, anxiety, and depression. I couldn’t bite my lip hard enough to keep the river of tears from streaming down my face.
The ugly cry was in full-blown effect. Shoulders shaking and lips quivering. My oversized sunglasses could not hide my brokenness that day.
There is something therapeutic about an ugly cry. All the hidden places are revealed and washed clean. God comes in with His glory, leaving behind peace.
When was the last time you allowed the tears to flow? When you sat in God’s presence and allowed Him to love on you with all the joy He brings?
You are right where you need to be in this car line of life. God’s path for you goes through the waiting and the going. There is nothing wrong with taking these moments to:
Pause. Weep. Worship.
This surrendered time allows God’s spirit to overflow and refresh your soul.
Pray
Dear Lord, thank You for allowing me to praise You. Your loving kindness toward me gives me the freedom to express myself in a way I never knew possible. Amen.
Thank you for reading!
