Detour

DAY 2 OF 4

God is with you

God is with you. He will not let you face what is next alone. This should make you want to shout with joy! But I can understand if you don't feel that way because it can be challenging to get excited when facing uncertainty.

Detours can feel lonely, unpredictable, and downright uncomfortable. They most certainly go against our tendency to be in complete control.

God was with Joseph every step of the way. When his brothers threw him into a pit and sold him as a slave to passing traders, God was with him. When he was a housekeeper and an innocent man serving time in prison indefinitely for simply standing for the truth, God never left him. And just as God was with Joseph, God is with you today.

He promises to never leave or forsake you. God is committed to helping you, not only on special occasions or times you feel worthy but always. When you feel exhausted, when your path seems unclear, remember He is always on the journey with you.

Developing and sustaining confidence that God is with you on your detour grows in an atmosphere of total surrender and connection to Him. So how do we increase our trust in God's unrelenting faithfulness to us? By doing two things. First, we must strengthen our spirit daily by spending time with God in His word and prayer. Second, we must continually remind ourselves of God's presence with our words.

You can remind yourself of God's presence by declaring the following often:

  • God is with me.
  • God is guiding me.
  • God is helping me.

About this Plan

Detour

Detours are an inevitable part of our life's journey. We are rarely excited about detours because they are a different or less direct route to our destination. However, with the right perspective, detours can prepare you in the best way possible for the purpose God has designed you to accomplish. This plan will equip you with essential truths to remember as you navigate from disappointment to destiny.
