Receiving the Refreshment of the LordSýnishorn
Day 6 - REJOICE
On this last day, we’ll consider REJOICING as part of receiving God’s refreshment. When we REJOICE in anticipation of answered prayer, we show that we trust that God has good plans for us. We know that His ways are best, and we believe that He does not fail.
When we choose to rejoice, to read scripture and glorify God, it brings hope. It brings peace. It brings joy. It refreshes our souls and gives us strength. Psalm 5:11 in The Passion Translation says, “But let them all be glad, those who turn aside to hide themselves in you. May they keep shouting for joy forever! Overshadow them in your presence as they sing and rejoice. Then every lover of your name will burst forth with endless joy.”
Are you ready to receive the Lord's gift of refreshment in this unrefreshing world? He’s waiting, longing to pour it out in your life. RECOGNIZE the need. RELINQUISH the cares of this world into His loving, and very capable hands, and REST in the freedom that brings. Give Him REVERENCE and praise, and REJOICE, knowing He is for you, so it doesn't matter who or what may stand against you. You can rest in the knowledge that you are victorious because HE is victorious. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart. Or to put it another way, be refreshed in the knowledge that He has overcome the world.
Thank you, Father, that in this unrefreshing world, your word is filled with promises that we can find refreshment in you. Help us to recognize our need for that refreshment, to relinquish our need for control, to rest in your promise of help and provision, to keep our hearts full of worship and reverence for you, and to rejoice, knowing that you answer prayer.

About this Plan
In this challenging world, it’s easy to find ourselves feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and tired easy prey for the enemy of our souls. But our Heavenly Father has the answer to all of this. He offers us His rest and refreshment. As we walk through this devotional plan together, we will explore how we can receive the rest and refreshment of the Lord in this decidedly UNrefreshing world.
