Healing Hurt From a Broken HeartSýnishorn
Day 1: Healing One Day At A Time
One mistake I made early in my healing journey was not being present in my healing, which means I wasn’t actually healing. The process of healing happens one day at a time. I spent many of those early days after that hard breakup either thinking about what happened in the past and how it could have been different, or I thought about how my life could be in the future once I met the man of my dreams. Neither the past nor the future were real. I couldn’t change the past, and I couldn’t predict the future, so I was just fantasizing, worrying, and obsessing over things I could not control, which did not do a single thing to heal me.
During this season of your life, your healing is happening now. It’s a present action. If you want real healing to occur, you can’t wish it happened yesterday, and you can’t hope it will happen tomorrow. You have to put in the work today so you can be ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
Imagine if each day you only think or worry about yesterday and tomorrow, and you don’t put in the work that day for your healing. You will look up months or years down the road and wonder why your life didn’t turn out the way you imagined. When I tell you healing is necessary, believe me. It is the key to unlocking the doors you’re looking for, but you can’t rush healing no matter how hard you try. It has to happen one day at a time, so don’t waste any more time. Stop looking back at yesterday or fantasizing about tomorrow. Work through your healing today.
Declare: I will no longer get wrapped up in what was or what could be. I have work to do today. I speak healing into my life, and I receive it through faith, but I also know I have to put in the work to see the manifestation of my healing. So I’m not wasting any more time. I’m getting started on my healing today.
