DAY 17 OF 17

Can you believe it? We’ve arrived at the final day of our study on spiritual disciplines.

Together we’ve been learning about how to be fully at home with our Heavenly Father. Let’s wrap up with some closing thoughts.

Remember, we must all arrange our lives around the practices that Jesus held to be at Home with and get power from the Lord. Ask what you need to partake in and what you need to abstain from to grow where you need to grow.

While you work on each of the disciplines we’ve covered, remember that they’re a gift from God to be used to become more like Him and to be closer to Him. Reflect on all the practices we’ve studied and choose the one that you need right now.

  1. Solitude
  2. Silence
  3. Fasting
  4. Frugality
  5. Chastity
  6. Secrecy
  7. Sacrifice
  8. Study
  9. Worship
  10. Celebration
  11. Service
  12. Prayer
  13. Fellowship
  14. Confession
  15. Submission

Know that you are loved by God beyond measure, and that you can be at Home with Him any time.

By the way, the ministry I lead is called Become New. If you’d like to join our community there and receive daily emails Monday-Friday with more teachings, you can sign up at https://becomenew.com/subscribe/. We’d be honored to have you join us.

Until then, I’m praying God would help you grow through these disciplines, one day at a time.

Today’s invitation:

As we conclude this series, ask yourself some questions about the future and then decide which discipline will help you get there.

What do you want with your life? What do you want to do with your time? What do you want to do with your money? How do you want your relationships with other people to play out? How do you want to be when you mess up? What would you like to do last thing at night when you go to sleep and how would you like to wake up the next day?

As you consider these questions, pray about what practices you need, and through it all, be at Home with the Heavenly Father.
