Satan would love to teach your children his ways.

Leaders, remember that Ephesians 6:4 puts the onus of responsibility on us as fathers to raise our children with discipline and instructions from God. One area that you need to be in tune in is what your children are being taught at school.

The best way to do this is to show genuine interest, ask good questions, and ultimately inspect their work to ensure nothing is being taught that contradicts your family value and belief systems. You must address lies in the curriculum directly. While that is not always the most popular or comfortable position to take, it is the right thing to do.

The only way that your kids are going to learn truth is by you being intentional about teaching them. Do not leave your children’s education up to the responsibility of others. You have unique skills that are valuable - pass them down and always check to ensure your children are learning from you directly.

With so many options such as homeschool, charter, private or public, your responsibility is to know what your kids are being taught and ensure it aligns to your values. Your kids are counting on you to protect them!

1. What discussions do you have weekly with your children regarding what they learn in school?
2. What is one skill you could teach your kids this weekend?
3. What actions will you commit to today to be the leader God intends you to be?
