DAY 1 OF 3

He Humbled Himself.

He made Himself of no reputation. The Lord put your needs before His Own. Jesus Christ, our Living God, selflessly gave Himself as a sinless sacrifice—for all of mankind. More importantly, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross—for you.

The Amplified Version expounds upon Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ in the following manner, “But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.” The Lord selflessly stripped Himself and served. He was stripped so that we might have life. He humbled Himself so that we might be made whole. ‭‭

While we were yet sinners—He loved us. The New Living Translation puts it this way, “Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,” Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬. He humbled Himself, became obedient unto death—so that we might have eternal life.

In fact, the New Living Translation expounds upon Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬ in the following manner, “He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” He died as a criminal so that we might be set free. In fact, under the law, we were criminals. Yet Christ took on the penalty of death and shame of the cross so that you might be set free.

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, say this simple prayer:

Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ.

I believe that He died and rose just for me. Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I repent of my sin and I turn to You.

I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
