Romans Part 2 - Faith

DAY 6 OF 21

RIGHT RELATIONSHIP

Romans 3:25 is part of a statement by Paul about the forgiveness of sin through Christ. The most famous verse in this statement is verse 23:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

As Christians, we all know that we have a sinful nature because it has been part of our humanity since the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God needed an atonement for our sins, and Jesus Christ was that sacrificial atonement by His blood shed on the cross. Believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and believing that He sacrificed Himself for our sins brings us into a right relationship with God.

We may ask why God, in His righteousness, would pass over former sins. It is because God looked ahead to the cross of Christ when the full payment for the sin of all humanity, both Old and New Covenant, would be made by Christ, God’s own Son. Remember that God’s love for us has been unconditional from the beginning. He created humanity in His own image. He does not want us to sin. We sin because we are human.

When we admit our sins and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ, our belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior helps us restore our relationship with God.

We are in a "right" relationship with God because Christ is the Ultimate Sacrifice for all of us. Thanks be to God.
