PrideFALL With Judah LupisellaSýnishorn
Day One
Pride goes before the fall. It’s exactly what happened to the devil.
Whether you knew this or not, the devil was actually once an angel. One moment, he was in the constant presence of perfection, and the next thing you know, he’s cast down from Heaven like lightning (see Luke 10:18). So, what happened? Pride.
The devil clearly thought he was better than God until he was slapped in the face with reality. He was standing tall, but he would soon fall. All of this reveals to us that pride originates from the innermost parts of the devil. It’s what empowered him, and yet, it’s what will have him burning in a lake of fire being tortured day and night for all eternity.
In fact, at one point the devil actually thought he could be like God (see Isaiah 14:14). To this day, though the story has already been written and we know the eternal doom that awaits the devil, my assumption (based off of his pridefully foolish nature) is that he must still think there’s a chance he can overtake God. In that case, he thinks wrong! I long for the day when the devil is reminded of those prideful thoughts, as he experiences eternal torture and everlasting suffering. With that being said, let’s call pride for what it really is: demonic.
