Where Was God During My Trials?

DAY 2 OF 3

Day Two | God is NOT to blame, so who or what is?

Some people blame God for the bad things that happen in their lives. However, God is not the source of our pain and suffering. In John 10:10, Jesus says that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but He (referring to Jesus) came to give us life in abundance.

When you focus only on the first part of this verse, you miss the point where Jesus reminds us, He came to give us a full and abundant life. We need to seek God's perspective and guidance when we are going through seasons of darkness and trust that He will lead us through it (2 Corinthians 4:8-12).

When you face difficult circumstances, remember that we live in a fallen world where sin and evil exist. In 1 Peter 5:8, it says, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." Satan is always looking for ways to bring pain and suffering into our lives, but we can resist him through prayer, faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

In James 1:13, we read, "When tempted, no one should say, 'God is tempting me.' For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone." Rather than blaming God for our hardships, we should look to Him for strength and guidance. Psalm 46:1 reminds us, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." God is always with us, and He is ready to help us through any situation we may face.

Therefore, instead of blaming God for our struggles, we must turn to Him for strength and guidance, and trust that He will help us overcome any obstacle. I encourage you to turn to God in prayer, seek His perspective, and ask for insight to navigate effectively through this season. Remember that God loves you, wants the best for your life, and He is always with you.

Journal Reflection:

Invite God to show you His perspective of any area in your life where you need God’s comfort. Be specific and ask Him for what you need.
