Do you ever catch yourself floating through life without actually taking it in? Without taking God in? Whenever we’re swept up in the hustle and bustle of life, it’s not only easy to overlook the moments but also the God of the moments, how He feels, how He surrounds, and how He sustains.
God invites us into this exchange. We can fully experience Him more deeply by practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is a conscious awareness of our sensations, emotions, and surroundings in which we perceive our experiences without analyzing, explaining, or judging them.
It’s even more life-giving to be attentive to God’s presence without trying to interpret what He’s saying or accomplishing. There’s something so comforting about approaching God without any entitlement to receive anything from Him other than Him.
Since God is worthy because of who He is—without doing a thing—all we have to do is slow down and experience Him. Because it’s impossible to engage the source of life without responding in gratitude. Will you accept the invitation?
