21 Days to Life-Changing ConfidenceSýnishorn
Try frying eggs in a pan. No butter. No cooking spray. No oil. Just dry. No matter how well you scrape those dry eggs off the pan and season them, that extra special “umph” will be missing.
Trying to accomplish our purpose without the anointing of God is just like that. Without His oil, we’re dry. We can make things happen, but they’ll be crusty and lacking. We need the oil—the anointing of the Holy Spirit—in our lives to accomplish our purpose.
Anointing oil in the Bible represents the presence of the Holy Spirit and the divine appointment of God. In I Samuel 16, Samuel took oil and anointed David before his brothers. From that day on, the Holy Spirit gave David power, favor, and ability!
Here’s an even better example. We don’t know if Jesus performed any miracles before He was thirty. But all His healings and miracles were recorded after John 1:32, in which the Spirit came down from heaven and remained on Him. From that day on, we begin to see His public miracles.
It’s impossible to be like God without the power of God. We need oil! And the good news is, we have it! The anointing of the Holy Spirit sets us apart, keeps us faithful to God, and appoints us for His purposes. The day of stale living is of the past. Since the Holy Spirit dwells within us, we’re cooking with oil!
As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit - just as it has taught you, remain in Him. I JOHN 2:27 NIV
DECLARATION:
I am anointed by God! His oil rests on me and will never run dry! I am confident that God's spirit will surge through everything I do.
