Leading With Confidence: Seven Affirmations for Leaders, a 7-Day Plan by Joy OguntimeinSýnishorn
Conqueror
Ugh, I failed at it again. Why can't I get it right? Is it ever going to change? I can't do it. It isn't going to get better.
What is your "it"? What is your weak place? We all have at least one. The weak place is that area in our life that we resolve to do better in, and within less than a week, we are already slipping. A money management problem that leads to debt? A temper that flares? An insecurity that stings? A pride that causes you to stumble and fall? A fear of rejection that keeps you from making tough choices?
Our weak place tends to make us feel less than a conqueror, less than strong. As leaders, we may be tempted to allow our weaknesses to define our worth. However, our ultimate victory is guaranteed. We may stumble and fall short, but we are "more than conquerors." In Christ, overwhelming victory is ours.
With God, you can overcome your weak places; whether it's failure or fear; doubt or debt; insecurity or inadequacy. When you're tempted to quit and say, "This is too hard for me. I don't have what it takes to..." encourage yourself and say, "I am more than a conqueror!"
Affirmation: I am a conqueror.
Reflection: Is there an area in your leadership where you need to declare victory? How will you let this verse shape your leadership today?
