Jesus, I Need You! PrayerSýnishorn
"Jesus, I need you. I can’t do life without you! I don't want to do life without you!"
Our prayer is that the Lord would meet us right where we are—in our hurt, disappointment, failure, weakness, loneliness, or despair—wherever we are! We need Jesus to forgive, heal, strengthen, and comfort us. We are often so full of ourselves. What we desperately need is to be filled with Christ! It can be difficult for us to discern our sinful ways from God's ways due to the dense fog of our indwelling sin. We have acquired habits, attitudes, and reasoning from many sources other than Christ. We need Jesus.
Paul’s aim was this: "For me to live is Christ" (Phil. 1:21). We want our heart's desire to be the same. Paul did not always live for Christ. He only began to do so when Jesus confronted Him on the road to Damascus, opened his eyes, and convinced him of his sin. By God's grace, Paul was brought to see Jesus for who He was (Acts 9:1-19). We want to ask Jesus to give us the desire and ability to seek Him first. We want to see Him and His extravagant love for us on the cross. Pray the following:
"Jesus, I need you. I need you to be my all in all. You are not just an idea, a list of dos and don’ts, a doctrine, or a cause. I need you and I want you! I want to know you so well that I know you better than I know anyone—my family, my friends, my closest friend—even myself. I want you to be with me right here, right now. I long to be able to sit next to you, to spend time in your presence, and to ask you questions that flood my mind and my heart. I want to be able to run to you, lay my head on your shoulder, pour out my heart to you, and have you put your arms around me and speak the truth to me—even the hard truth. I need your help, your grace, your mercy. I can’t do life alone."
