Qualifying for God's Anointing

DAY 2 OF 31

DON’T CARRY A TITLE WITHOUT THE ANOINTING

In 1 Samuel 16:1, Saul was the official king, but in Samuel’s closet, God had said, “I have rejected him(1 Sam. 16:7 AMPC).”God did not discuss this with the rest of the children of Israel, so they still regarded Saul as the king. They thought he still had the anointing, but God had rejected him because of certain things that he had done. Don’t forget that it was the Lord and not a man that spoke to Samuel.

It is not a man that anoints, so you will be in error to think that you will please a man to become anointed. A minister can call people forward and lay hands on them, yet God does not anoint some of those people. It is also possible for a minister not to call out somebody, and he/she ends up being the one that God anoints.

Some things drive God away from a man’s life and once they are found in your life, no matter what you do, you cannot qualify for the anointing. There were things that God saw in Saul that made God regret making him king. Saul wasn’t a sinner in the sense of committing fornication or other sins we often consider grave. Saul was one of the finest Jewish products of Judaism (1 Sam. 10:23), but there was something in his heart that caused God to withdraw from him (1 Sam. 15).

In the Bible, God withdrew from people because He saw some things in their lives. The Body of Christ is full of many people that are like Saul, whom God had rejected yet continued to reign. There are also many like David who are anointed but not yet enthroned. You may be anointed and not enthroned yet because God is still taking you through His divine process.

PRAYER: Lord, deliver me from things that disqualify a man from the anointing. May I not carry title without the anointing in Jesus’ name. Amen!
