Who Am I Really? A Journey to Discover Your True Identity

DAY 12 OF 13

According to the KING, you are ANOINTED.

  • The anointing that I have received from God remains in me. Through His anointing, He will teach me about all things, and He will remain in me. ~1 John 2:27
  • God Himself will help me stand firm in Christ. He has anointed me and set His seal of ownership on me. ~2 Corinthians 1:21-22

It feels good to complete a project you have been working on for a long time. There is a certain sense of accomplishment that comes with knowing it was a job well done.

Whether you’re a student working on a school assignment, a housewife tackling laundry, an employee making a presentation, or a mom raising kids—we are called to give our very best. It doesn’t matter if we have all the answers or know how something is going to turn out. We are merely asked to follow God’s lead and do what He calls us to do. The rest is up to Him.

Sometimes we don’t get to see the end result of our hard work. We must simply trust God to work out everything for His good plan and purpose.

When I started Living in Truth Ministries, I had no idea what it was supposed to look like or how things were going to play out. All I really knew was that God was calling me to minister to women who were living in bondage to the lies of this world. God showed me the need, and I trusted Him to lead the way. Step by step, I continue to follow.

"You say, 'But He has been unwise to choose me, because there is nothing in me; I am not of any value.' That is why He chose you. As long as you think there is something in you, He cannot choose you because you have ends of your own to serve; but if you let Him bring you to the end of your self-sufficiency, then He can choose you to go with Him to Jerusalem.” ~Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest

I am not the least bit qualified, by the world’s standards, to be doing what I’m doing. But thankfully, God doesn’t usually call the qualified—He qualifies the called.

We may never see the full impact of what God does through our meager offerings in life, but that’s okay. We simply need to give our all and fulfill each responsibility as it comes our way. In humble submission, we must continue to follow Jesus so that we will one day hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness” (Matthew 25:21)!

Make it Personal:

God has a plan and purpose for each person’s life. Have you identified some ways that you believe God would like to use you? To be anointed means that you are dedicated to the service of God. In what ways have you dedicated your life to the service of God?

Action Step:

Spend time in prayer asking God to help you find your purpose in His kingdom if you are unsure of your role. If you are already certain of your anointing, ask God to grow you so that you become even more effective in your role.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me a role to play in the Kingdom. Thank you for anointing me unto your service. Help me to grow, mature, and be all that you have called me to be. Amen.
