Chosen: Rejected by People, Chosen a 5-Day Plan by Wanda WhiteSýnishorn
God Has a Unique Purpose for You
Have you ever asked the question, “What is my purpose? Why am I here? What am I supposed to be doing?” We ask these questions because we want our life to have meaning. We want to be loved. We want to feel like we are not just wandering around aimlessly taking hits for no reason.
God gives us assignments that point us toward our purpose. Our purpose is unique to us. Yes, we may share the same gifts, but no one can orchestrate it like you. Just like the fingerprint is unique to you, so is your purpose. Sometimes we can see it clearly and other times it takes us a little longer to figure it out.
In my line of work, when we make purchases over a certain limit, we have to have three quotes. That sounds easy enough. Call three companies, get three quotes. But there are times when we run into an item that we can only get from one vendor. That vendor is the single source, and that item is unique to them. There are no copycats or generic items available, nothing similar or even close.
That’s how you are. You are unique in your gifting and what you offer. No one can do what God has created you to do like you can. There’s only one you. Don’t waste it by trying to be like someone else. Even if they have the same gifting, it’s still your touch that makes you unique. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for YOU”.
Each of us holds a piece of the puzzle to expand God’s kingdom. Operating in your “piece” (purpose) allows others to operate in theirs. You don’t have to dim your light so others can shine. Operating in your purpose allows you to grow. It allows God’s plan to continue. He has an assignment chosen just for you, and as Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us, He’s had it before you were even born. That’s how well He knows you. When God starts an assignment, He does not leave it unfinished. The work that He has for you, He’s going to see it through.
Reflection Question: How are you using your unique purpose to expand God’s kingdom?
Prayer
Father, when I start to wonder what my purpose is, please remind me that you have a plan specifically for me, and IT’S GOOD.
