Day 5: Grace

As the gentle rain cleanses the earth, so do I cleanse you. Like the sudden burst of a thunderstorm on a hot summer’s day cools the air, so I refresh your weary soul. You cannot ignore or dismiss it and the effects are instant and lasting. This is my power at work in you and through you. I am to you as the waters that soak the parched land and feed the dry ground. In my presence, you are nourished. At my side, you are nurtured. Here close to me, you learn to walk along the path teeming with life. This is where you get to know what true joy is. Pure delight goes ahead of you all your days as you learn to trust me. Hope deferred made your heart sick for a time, but look, a dream fulfilled has become a tree of life, and here by my side are pleasures forever. Sorrow endured through the night, great suffering for a season, but do you see, joy comes in the morning. My grace is sufficient for you. My power is made perfect in your weakness. I am strength. I am hope. I am your anchor. Lean on me.
