As a follower of God, Daniel spent a lot of time in prayer. One day while praying, he received a vision he didn’t understand. So, he asked God to help him understand. He grieved and prayed for three weeks. And eventually, God sent an angel to answer his prayers. When the angel came to Daniel to answer his prayers, he said something interesting: “The prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come” (Daniel 10:13-14 NIV). The angel encountered some spiritual resistance, which is why it took so long for Daniel’s prayer to be answered. While this passage may raise so many questions, one thing is certain: There is more going on in our world than just what we see. There could be a delay when we pray, not because God isn’t answering but because there’s more going on as He’s working to answer.
So when we’re waiting for an answer to something we prayed for, let’s keep trusting our good God, who is fighting for good in realms beyond our vision.

About this Plan
Stories teach us life lessons that stick with us well after the last page is turned. That may be why Jesus often told stories to convey a big idea or truth. He knew stories would connect with our hearts. We’ll dive into a few of those stories (parables) together. As we study, we’ll discover the power of those stories and how they can apply to our lives, as well as the power of Jesus as a teacher and a storyteller.
