The Now Generation Leader

DAY 3 OF 14

Does Age Matter?

As young leaders and believers, older generations may seem intimidating. Whether they read the Bible more, live spiritually successful lives, or never miss a church service, being young seems to set you back, right? It’s easy to think this way. However, have you ever considered the advantages of being young?

The Bible reminds us in 1 Peter 5:5 to stay humble and respect our elders, but it’s not followed by any reason why young people should feel inferior. In Job chapter 32, we read that although we may be younger, our spirits can be wise.

As a young leader, you have the opportunity to admire the wisdom of people before you. But you also have a choice to challenge the ideas of what’s ordinary or normal. With technology advancing, you can share God’s love with the world at just a click of a button. Christians can connect in ways they never could before. Why let your age be a disadvantage?

Seize opportunities to share Christ in your day-to-day setting, whether at school, on a college campus, or at work. God has called you to be where you are. Don’t be afraid to make a difference.

Challenge: A leader will respect the wise but not be intimidated. Talk with someone about one way being young can help your leadership style.

About this Plan

The Now Generation Leader

As a young adult, you are not the leader of tomorrow. You are the leader of today. In this 14-day plan, the Life.Church LeadershipXP team will provide practical, biblical advice to help young leaders develop into the leader Christ has created them to be. Each day includes a practical challenge aimed to help put what you learn through your reading into practice.
