NEXT STEPS: BaptismSýnishorn
WHO SHOULD COME TO MY BAPTISM?
One of the greatest parts about Baptism Sundays at church is that you have a unique opportunity to get family and friends into God's House. It's a sort of unspoken rule in our culture that when someone invites you to a significant event, like baptism, that you come to support them (even if you don't believe a word they're saying).
As far as we're concerned, getting people in the doors is half the battle - so we believe you should invite anyone and everyone you can!
Take advantage of the chance you have to get your loved ones into church with you and spend the surrounding days and weeks praying that God begins to do a work in their heart. Pray that as you step out in faith to invite them to church that He would do His part in softening their heart and speaking to them. We can't tell you how many times we've seen guests meet Jesus at church when they were only attending because someone close to them was being baptized. And that made all the difference!
Don't be afraid to invite someone - step out in boldness and trust that God will do what only He can do!
About this Plan
The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Jesus Christ. Making a decision to follow Jesus when no one is looking is significant, but there's something powerful about publicly declaring, in front of family and friends, that you've given your life to Christ. This Bible plan will walk us through what the Bible says about baptism as a next step for a believer!
