Scripture
Do not neglect meeting together, as is the habit of some, but encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:25
Summary
Our faith is a community project. We desperately need each other! We need to spur one another on. To keep each other motivated. To call each other out, and keep each other on track. Many believers fall away from the faith because they stop surrounding themselves with other Christians. The pleasures of this life take priority and precedence. Soon their faith becomes cold and they walk away altogether. Let's not let that happen to us. Let's commit to coming to church, to encouraging one another, and keeping each other on track. Let's continue gathering as God's people...especially on the weeks when we're not scheduled to serve.
Discussion Questions
1. What activities do people tend to prioritize over weekly church attendance?
2. Why do you think regularly gathering is so important to our faith?
3. How often do you think you should be with other Christians? Can it be too much?
4. Any other thoughts, comments, ideas or questions you'd like to share?
Closing Prayer
Lord God, thank you for our church. Thank you for our team. Thank you for these amazing brothers and sisters here who keep us on track with you. Help us to make it a priority to be involved in each others' lives. Teach us how to spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Lord, help us not be deceived by the empty pleasures of this life. Help each and every one of us finish our race of faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
