Mini Miracles

DAY 1 OF 3

It’s a Miracle When You Are at the Right Place at the Right Time.

I know someone will read this and think, “Sounds like a coincidence to me!” But I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe in an extraordinary God who loves us very much and provides mini-miracles to remind us that He is present. We tend to focus more on the miracles that happen to us, but what about miracles we are a part of for other people? We don’t even know that God designed those specific moments for us to be used by Him.

Early one afternoon, I was driving down a busy street headed to pick up my daughter from the bus stop when I glanced out the window and saw an elderly man walking. The moment I looked out of the window, his knees buckled and he fell headfirst on the sidewalk. Quickly I pulled over and hopped out of the car, dropping my cell phone in between the seat where I could not see it. I panicked as I knew I needed to call 911, but I also needed to see if this man was ok. His head was bleeding and he wasn’t moving. I was screaming for help and trying to wave down cars, but people kept driving by. Finally, a woman stopped to help, who just so happened to be a nurse. She called 911, and the man now is in good hands.

Do you see the mini miracles that took place here? We live in a world where people walk without concern over humans lying on the ground. Had I not seen him at that very moment when he fell, who knows if anyone would have even noticed him there, or maybe they would have just considered him homeless. Many cars passed by as I screamed for help, but a nurse was the first person to stop. Another woman drove past with her daughter and asked if she could help. I told her that I was on my way to pick up my daughter from the bus stop and she was probably worried because I had not made it there yet. She offered to pick her up as that is the same place she just picked up her daughter from. Mini miracle #3 – a total stranger picked up my daughter and knew exactly where she would be. The Bible says in Acts 19:11-12 that God did extraordinary miracles “through” Paul. And He still does miracles through you and others.
