The Parent's Battle Plan

DAY 4 OF 5

Authority

The more we understand about how much God is on our side and how He has bestowed power within us, the easier it becomes to be prayer warriors for our children. This process begins by gaining knowledge about our authority. Jesus explained to us how we all currently possess complete authority over everything—both in the earth and over the earth. When we confessed our sins and made the Lord our Savior, we were delivered from the devil. We entered into a position of authority through Jesus Christ as the sons and daughters of the Living God.

There are several definitions of authority that are expressed scripturally. The Bible tells us that we have authority to overcome the power of the enemy. It also assures us that no weapon formed against us will prosper. God placed all things under His feet. Once we know that we have power and authority over the devil, we must stay diligent.

Even though it is our greatest weapon, the act of taking authority sometimes contains seasons when it is hard to see any results. Many times, the answers we receive do not resemble what we requested of God. In the midst of the battle, we often have to depend solely on our spiritual eyes to see the blessings within our circumstances. We must persevere with our prayers and never lean on our own understanding of how they might manifest.

Jesus knows about Satan’s power of temptation and how it makes us feel. The primary reason He can comfort us in the battlefield is because He knows what it is like to battle one-on-one with the devil. It is good to remember that the devil will always slither into our lives and present the greatest temptations when we are at our lowest. So it was with Jesus. He was tempted in every way. We can follow His success over the devil’s attack.

Prayer that is coupled with knowledge of authority is the ultimate weapon when we are battling for our children’s lives. We can take our authority over the devil and stomp on his evil head. The only way to be purposeful about prayer is to integrate it into your schedule as you would eating your daily meals. Decide what your personal prayer schedule should look like and record those time blocks in your calendar.

About this Plan

The Parent's Battle Plan

There is nothing more important than the success of our family, particularly our children. We are in a war, but not with our teens and young adults. There is a darkness in the world that is enticing our children to step into paths of destruction. The good news is that there are strategies to win back our children. Join us to develop a battle plan!
