God Heals

DAY 2 OF 5

Unleashing the Power of Faith

Faith is the most important key to receiving healing—or anything—from God. We don’t receive anything from God without faith. Faith is the currency of Heaven. We must first believe that God is our Healer, and then believe Him for our own healing.

Faith is a superpower. Jesus said if we have the faith to believe, all things are possible. He’s talking about a faith that believes God more than the doctors, medicine, Google, or what our mind and emotions tell us. He didn’t say all things are possible if we can figure it out, if we are a good person, or if we beg Him. He said all things are possible if we just believe. Faith connects us to God’s miracle-working power and makes the impossible possible. Jesus said all things are possible through faith.

In the Gospel of Mark, there was a woman with an issue of blood that caused her bleed for twelve years. She had gone to every doctor she could find, spent all her money, and no one could help her. Instead, she got worse. I can’t imagine how discouraged and battle-weary she must have felt, but she never gave up. She refused to accept that this was her lot in life and kept believing she would be healed.

When she heard Jesus was visiting her town, she said that if she touched His clothes, she knew she would be made well. Faith is not just wishing or hoping something will happen. It is being fully persuaded that God has all power and will do what He promised. Faith is when we don’t see anything happening or the situation has gotten worse, but we keep standing on the promises of God. Faith is when we don’t see a way but keep trusting that God has a way.

When she finally got to Jesus and touched His robe, she was immediately healed. Lots of people were touching Jesus, but when this woman touched Him, Jesus stopped in His tracks. He said that someone had touched Him and that He felt power go out from Him. Then He told the woman her faith had made her well. It was her faith that drew the healing power out of Him. All the people who touched Jesus that day had needs, but this lady had faith. God cares about our needs, but He responds to our faith.
