Fear Not for I Am With TheeSýnishorn
Spirit of Fear
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given you the spirit of fear. According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Fear” is, ‘deilia’ (G1167) which means, “Timidity, fearfulness, cowardice.” For God has not given you the spirit of timidity, fearfulness, or cowardice. For the Lord has given you the authority to conquer.
Choose to conquer your fears. Choose to overcome your failures. Fear not—for the Lord your God is with you. Fear has no authority within the walls of your heart. Timidity has no place within the walls of your life. Choose to conquer your fears and do what God has called you to do.
The Amplified Version puts it this way, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 AMPC. God has given you a well-balanced mind. May discipline and self-control be your portion.
Psalm 56:3 KJV declares, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” When I am afraid, I will trust in You. When I am afraid, I will put my confidence and hope in You. For in You will I put my reliance. For You are my Lord, my God, and my King. Fear will not rule over me. For You are my strong tower, and in You I am safe.
