The Storm TormentorSýnishorn
I love this concept of God!!! God is not a teddy bear; when God wants to, the mountains melt in his presence. Can you see it? Imagine God walking through your city; the mountains melt like ice cream. This is what Psalm 97:5 says The mountains melted like wax before God, before the Lord of the whole earth.
We cease to fear when we discover how powerful and fearsome our God is.
There is an illustration that represents this very well. What would happen if I locked a group of people in a room and released some cockroaches knowing they would panic? You would likely hear stomping and a lot of screaming. It is normal; it is a situation that can produce disgust, fear, and rejection ... Minutes later, I decided to put a lion in that same room. Where do you think the same people are looking now? Do you think they are now focused on the cockroaches? Of course not; now their eyes are focused on the lion, now they are fearing for their life, they are praying like never before to get out of that room alive, right or wrong? Well, that is what happens to us with God. When we contemplate his attributes, cockroaches cease to be problems and become unimportant anecdotes.
The lion is on our side, do you know that? We have with us the meekest and, at the same time, the most fearsome being that creation has ever known. God was not created like us; he does not understand limits, he is not afraid, he is not frightened by anything in this world, his pulse does not tremble, he does not suffer from low esteem, his feet rest on the entire planet earth, and he has established his throne throughout the length and breadth of heaven.
Isaiah 66:1 Thus says the Lord: "Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool.
The problem with our fears is that our gaze is focused on the Goliaths.
Goliaths have power when you compare yourself to them, but if you put God in His rightful place, these giants will end up as harmless cockroaches. They may annoy you, but they have no power to harm you.
Tip of the day: Do not focus on what causes you fear; focus on the greatness and power of God.
Prayer subject: Spend a few minutes in prayer, declaring that the Lord is the only one in control of your life. Declare these truths, rest, and rest in the Lord. As I told you before, God is not afraid.
