I Am Not Ashamed of the GospelSýnishorn
Faith
How did your Christian life, and mine, begin? By faith. We continue the Christian life by faith (Galatians 3:1–14). On my very worst day, I stand before God accepted because of the finished work of His Son. On my very best day, I stand before God accepted because of the finished work of His Son. I’m not striving to achieve righteousness before God. I am living my life out of the gospel. Salvation, justification, and transformation are how people are delivered (Titus 3:4–5). This process is valid for everyone who believes. It is the one message for the whole world where God’s righteousness is put on display as it is revealed. From beginning to end, this message calls for faith.
Have you received and experienced the gospel? Have you embraced it? Do you now see that you’ve been entrusted with its message? We gather for equipping and being built up in the faith, but to what end? We must live out our faith as evangelists because all around us are men and women who need the good news. We have an obligation. Are we eager to proclaim the gospel because we’re not ashamed of it?
Knowing what the gospel has produced in your life, you are ready to proclaim it to others. Are you living your life out of the gospel? Let’s live our life preaching the gospel to ourselves every day, having faith in God’s Son. Christ, from beginning to end. To live is Christ and to die is gain. Christ is our life (Colossians 3:3–4).
We live the Christian life by faith in the Son of God who loved and gave Himself for us, who has delivered us and made us His own. We are not ashamed of the gospel.
Father, thank You for the good news. Thank You that it came to us. We praise You for the feet of those who brought the gospel to us. What beautiful messengers we met when they shared the gospel with us! We heard it, and by grace, we believed, and You saved us. Increase our awareness of the gospel and our obligation to share it in our daily lives. May we be eager and faithful with this divine deposit. Strengthen us to live our lives out of this gospel every day. Amen.
