Walk Through The Bible 365 - November

DAY 30 OF 30

Motivation For Prayer

Daniel was reading God’s Word one day from the passages of Jeremiah. Suddenly Daniel had this overwhelming sense of emotional turmoil for the city of Jerusalem. We see a great holy example of intercessory prayer for himself, God’s people, and the beloved city. Daniel reveals that it is not for righteousness sake that he prays but because of God’s great mercy. He knew the awesomeness of the everlasting holy mercy of God. Because of his great mercy, we have the motivation to present our families, our community, and our city before him to intercede!

Prayer: Merciful God, we acknowledge that you only are mighty in power and great in mercy. I acknowledge my sins, the sins of my family, my community, and my city. You are long-suffering and slow to anger and your steadfast love never ceases. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
