Expecting the One With Many Names

DAY 4 OF 27

HE BUILDS UP, GUIDES, ANOINTS, AND COMFORTS THOSE WHO ARE HIS!

I love that Jesus' career was that of a 'carpenter.' It fits His person because carpenters build, repair, and make things anew!

“Isn’t this the ‘carpenter’? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph,[a]Judas and Simon?Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.” Mark 6:3

The 'Chief Shepherd' watches over His pasture. He is always watching out for those that are His. He keeps his sheep in line and protects them from becoming prey to their enemy. He guides them who know His voice.

“And when the ‘Chief Shepherd’ appears, you will receive the crown of glorythat will never fade away.” I Peter 5:4

'The Christ' in Greek is Christos, and it means the anointed one! Christ was born incarnate as the Messiah Christ. God anointed His Son as Savior to mankind.

“And Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called 'the Christ’” Matthew 1:16

I can certainly relate to Jesus as a 'Comforter.' Having lost several loved ones and battling a disease, I can attest, He is my source of comfort.

“You who are my ‘Comforter’' in sorrow,my heart is faintwithin me.” Jeremiah 8:18

LET US PAUSE:
