Guard Your Heart

DAY 7 OF 7

May Christ dwell in your heart

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, … that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith” (Ephesians 3:14,17).

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul tells how he is praying for these believers. He is pleading for their spiritual growth and well-being. Essential for that is that Jesus Christ dwells in their hearts through faith. That leads to huge spiritual blessings:

“that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19).

If Christ dwells in our hearts, He changes everything. Naturally, our hearts produce all kinds of evil things that defile us, but Jesus cleanses our hearts so that they become pure and loving.

If Jesus dwells in your heart, He becomes the center of your life. As the apostle Paul says in another letter: “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).

Are you ready to devote your whole heart to Jesus?
