Here I Am, Lord: Devotions from Time of Grace

DAY 7 OF 31

Thank You for the Rescue, Lord You know, Lord, that I try to be responsible and take care of my own business. I don’t want to be a burden on anybody. I try to handle everything, and I mean everything. Maybe I am a little too confident in my ability to tackle every problem. Maybe that’s why it takes me so long to ask for help. I don’t want to seem like I’m begging. I admit it--I’m proud. But when I needed big help for a big problem, you were there for me. I know there was divine intervention--there is no other possible explanation for the solution. I am giving you all the credit. I don’t know if you just spoke a word or sent an angel or just reached down. “You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great” (Psalm 18:35). I will continue to strive to be self-reliant. But I’m going to work harder on being humble enough to ask for help when I need it. I’m going to enjoy knowing that you always have my back and are actually working to make me great, and I’m going to praise you in advance for all the things you must be doing for me that I don’t even notice. Thank you. Thank you! You are the best!

About this Plan

Here I Am, Lord: Devotions from Time of Grace

God knows that our tongues and brains sometimes lack the words to say, and so he provided the beautiful book of Psalms in his Word to provide vocabulary for us to bring our thoughts and concerns to him. These devotions, one for each day of the month, use psalms to help you voice your needs and hurts and joys to the Lord.
