Anchorage: The Storm of Sickness | Part 6 of 8Sýnishorn
By His Stripes We ARE Healed
Oftentimes we tend to miss the bottom line when it comes to healing. We tend to accept our infirmities and our weaknesses as part of our lives and continue to live in the pain. We normalize it and get used to living with it. But the Word of God offers a completely different perspective on it.
When Jesus took our place on that cross, He took all of our sin and our shame. He paid the ultimate price. He was wounded and bruised for our iniquities and as the prophet Isaiah tells us, by His stripes we are healed. Pay attention to the grammar here. It doesn’t say that by His stripes we WILL BE healed, but that we ARE healed. It means that it is something that is already done! Through Christ’s suffering on the cross, we have already received our healing. On that cross He even bore our sickness. And to that end we need to realize that our sickness has no power over us anymore!
What we are now called to do is to believe and accept what Christ has done for us, that His ultimate sacrifice on the cross has even set us free from our sickness and has healed us and therefore no sickness or affliction can have authority over us unless we allow it to. Remember, by His stripes we ARE healed!
Reflect
Ask God to help you remember what He has done for you. That He has already paid the price for your suffering on that cross so that you don’t have to suffer anymore.
