The Glory of God in Heaven.Sýnishorn
You will see the Glory of God … in heaven.
By Rev. Roger Woller
Have you ever been blinded when a bright light was shined in your face? Have you shouted at oncoming traffic to dim their headlights because they were too bright?
We need light to read or to see where we are going and, as we get older, the brighter the light the better.
When we think of God’s Glory, we are reminded of the brightest light.
·Moses, after he had seen the back side of God, his face glowed and he had to veil it while the light faded. Moses had seen a reflection of the Glory of God.
·Peter, John, and James also saw a glimpse of God’s Glory. We are told that Jesus’ appearance changed, and his clothing became a dazzling white when he was on the mountain.
·Jesus, Moses, and Elijah appeared in God’s Glory, talking about what Jesus would have to do to save you and me from our sins and eternal death.
If we had been there, we not only would have seen a glimpse of God’s Glory, but we would have heard God the Father tell us, “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!” (Luke 9:35)
You and I cannot see the Glory of God through our own efforts or works. We could never be perfect enough to set ourselves free from the slavery of sin and eternal death.
Jesus did! Jesus paid the wages of sin for us, and God was satisfied. Listen to his Word when he says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Cor. 3:17) The freedom that Jesus earned for you assures that you will see the Glory of God in heaven. YOU will see that light. YOU will see the Glory of God.
Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, thank you for sending your Son Jesus to set me free from sin, death, and the power of the devil. Help me always to listen to your Word. Amen.
