Living The Christian Life Of Obedience

DAY 2 OF 7

Five teenagers went on a picnic in a resort. On the way to the resort, there was a beautiful apple orchard with tempting juicy fruits. They stopped the car and thought of picking up few. However, they were afraid of the watchman who took care of the orchard.

One teenager, Chad, was assigned the duty of watching out if anyone notices them and alert them, while others sneaked in to pick the apples. Chad shouted, “Somebody is watching!!” All the boys ran back to the car. One of them asked, “Who was watching?” Chad replied, “God was watching.”

Passage
Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws, and his decrees that I am giving you this day. (Deut 8:11)

Principles
Chad had the Fear of the Lord that he was conscious that they cannot hide their mischief and stealing from Him. The others did not realize this. Reverence to God and His Holiness would keep a Christian away from sin. Learning to experience the Presence of the Lord in day-to-day life is important. Being sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit who reminds us of the Word of God helps Christians to shun evil.

Practice
When we are in the presence of good people, we behave better. In the same way, realizing Christ’s presence every minute of our life helps us to lead a life that pleases Him.

Plan of Action
Think about at least one action or behaviour that would have been different if you had really practiced to live in His Presence always.
