5 Powerful Prayers to Impact Our Schools TogetherSýnishorn
New Beginnings
Can an investment of 600 seconds result in something new?
Hundreds of people gathered together in small groups outside of 140 schools across our nation during the last week of July. Their mission: to pray for 10 minutes at schools that are yet covered in prayer during the school year.
As the week unfolded, we began to experience God working in new ways. Groups were invited by principals to pray throughout their buildings. A superintendent sent an email of thanks. Strategic connections were made.
Just as we spend 10 minutes cleaning out our car or reading to a child, we believe that the same investment of prayer during the summer is being used by God to create new protection, wisdom for administrators, hope for discouraged children and revival in the atmosphere of our buildings. We are celebrating God’s work and asking Him for more of the new!
As we begin these 5 powerful prayers to impact our schools together, we can be confident that God is doing new things in our schools.
Praise our God of New Beginnings
Revelation 21:5 reads, “And He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”
God, we praise You for being the God of new beginnings! You are the Creator, the One who does new things.
Pray for Hearts to Experience a New Beginning at School
From the book of Isaiah, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”
Lord, we bring to You our disappointments, frustrations, and anxieties about the realities of this school year. May this beginning be positive for teachers, students, and families. We will not dwell on the past but look toward what is ahead, trusting that You are doing a new thing.
Pray for Hearts to Experience a New Beginning with God
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in Him.” Psalm 40:3
We declare a new beginning for every person in our school community. We trust You for a new song, new perspective, new vision, and new spiritual insight that leads to hearts made new by Jesus. We believe that this new start with God will transform homes, schools, and communities. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
About this Plan
What could happen if people joined together to pray for transformation in school communities? In spite of the independence and individualism woven into the fabric of our culture, we believe an untapped resource for miraculous change is available: The Power of Together. Let’s be strategic and focused together on behalf of our school communities as we “devote ourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” -Colossians 4:2
